Hello there!

I am Silvia, a fine dining lover, living in Vienna for more than 4 years.

I am a self-taught Confiseur, fascinated with world history, anthropology and travelling. Sweet Austria is my first online project. In simple words it is my "love-affair" with the Austrian sweet cuisine. The project documents the journey of 101 famous Austrian desserts while visiting castles and monasteries, cafes and pastry shops, in search of deliciousness. Recipes are recreated in my kitchen and photography is entirely the outcome of my camera.

My mission: to find and tell the stories behind each sweet dish, to meet proud artisans who keep traditions alive, to paint the sweet heart of the Land with the joy of a child who just ate the very best cake.
